UPDATE 7:30AM: One lane of traffic has reopened on I-75 following yesterday's crash, but the two center lanes and the right lane remain closed as crews continue to work to stabilize the Salzburg Road bridge.

Previous reporting: Southbound I-75 remains closed in Bay County Thursday morning, after a truck hit a support column on the Salzburg Road bridge and burst into flames Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic is being detoured onto eastbound M-25, to southbound M-13, to southbound M-84, and then back onto I-75.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says temporary supports are being installed, and they hope to reopen I-75 later today. In the meantime, commuters are being asked to allow some extra time to reach their destination, or to find an alternate route.
