The Athletic Director for Michigan State University has resigned.

Mark Hollis’s resignation comes in the midst of the Larry Nassar scandal. Nassar sexually assaulted multiple women under the guise of treatment. Survivors say they told MSU officials – but were ignored.

Bill Beekman is the new acting president of the university. He says MSU has benefited from Hollis’ employment.

“When Mark told me that he was planning on retiring I told him that I’d like to twist his arm clean off to have him stay.”

Hollis says he didn’t know about the Nassar allegations until news reports came out in 20-16.
