A Michigan State University veterinarian says there’s little worry about the safety of your pets during the coronavirus outbreak.  Dr. Dalen Agnew is a pathologist with the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He says there’s no evidence that COVID-19 is transmitted by cats or dogs.

“There is no documented case of any dog, any pet, any companion animal being sick with this virus.  And so I think being concerned that they’re going to catch COVID-19 and be ill is probably not a real concern. We should be much more concerned with protecting ourselves.”

Still, Agnew says it’s important for people to have a plan for caring for their pets just as they would for their loved ones.
