In the wake of flooding what’s being called ‘historic’ flooding in the Upper Peninsula this weekend, the Michigan Attorney General is reminding northern Michigan residents of resources available for flood victims.
Shelter resources are available that include food, cots, blankets, pillows and 24 hour staff.
People are also warned to beware of scams that typically follow natural disasters. Common post-disaster scams include: flood damaged vehicle sales, substandard emergency home repair offers, and phony charity relief.
Affected residents are advised to call 211 to report flood damage, and 911 for other immediate emergency assistance.
