A northern Michigan food company is working double-time to continue to feed kids all across the country.

Albie’s Food Company in Otsego County provides individually wrapped sandwiches for schools. Ever since schools across the country shut down, the company has been working double-shifts to try to meet demand - 115 thousand sandwiches a day.

Jamie Phillips said in his twenty plus years with the company, this demand is unprecedented.

“We are busier than we’ve ever been. The plant is doing fantastic keeping up, even though we aren’t filling 100% of the orders - everyone is getting something across the country. So we just keep making them and shipping them out.”

Phillips said the factory is operating from six A-M to 10 P-M, six days a week to keep up with demand.
