A large indoor market in Saginaw is expected to open this summer.

The SVRC Marketplace is being constructed in the former Saginaw News building.

It’s a hundred thousand square foot redevelopment and costs some 22 million dollars.

Audra Davis is the Marketplace manager. She said the first floor of the market will be all about food.

“Some will feature food involving fresh fruits and vegetables and vegan type options, and then we’ll also have a comfort food avenue, bacon, and mac n cheese, and Chicago style sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, cookies and homemade pies.”

Davis said second and third floor office spaces will be available for businesses to lease, and a basement kitchen space will be available for rent.

She said the marketplace is scheduled to be complete in June.
