Mosaic

In advance of the 15th Annual Traverse City Film Festival, Central Michigan University will be in the spotlight with works by film students and the screening of a documentary about women in the broadcast industry.  “Breaking the Sound Barrier,” produced by Patty Williamson and Eric Limarenko, will be shown Sunday, July 28 at 6:00 pm at the Bijou by the Bay Theater. The filmmakers joined David Nicholas in studio during Mosaic to talk about the project.


The inaugural Michigan Authors’ Workshop Series will be held in Midland July 22-26.  The guests and events will feature readings and writing and workshops by Michigan writers.  Helen Raica-Klotz from Saginaw Valley State University is the coordinator of the event – she joined David Nicholas in studio during Mosaic to share a preview.


Three community theater groups are collaborating to bring Mamma Mia! to the stage this fall.  Kathy Pawloski from Bay City Players, Amy Spadafore from Saginaw’s Pit and Balcony Theatre, Dexter Brigham from Midland Center for the Arts joined David Nicholas on Mosaic to talk about the collective production.

CMU Summer Theatre is ready to raise the curtain on their 2019 productions of Neil Simon’s “California Suite” and Ken Ludwig’s “A Fox on the Fairway.”  The two comedies, in repertory, open Thursday, June 20, at CMU’s Bush Theater, then travel to Beaver Island July 5 and 6, and July 12 and 13 in Whitehall at the Playhouse at White Lake.  Director Steve Berglund joined David Nicholas during Mosaic to preview the two plays.
