An economist expects Michigan’s hospitality industry will struggle to find workers and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite Michigan having the highest rate of new COVID-19 infections – per capita – in the country, new restrictions to limit the spread of the disease aren’t coming. However, the decision might be more political than scientific.
The Michigan Bureau of Elections says a petition campaign to initiate a law to curtail the governor’s use of emergency powers has gathered the signatures it needs. Now, the next step is to have that ratified by a state board.
