Central Michigan University’s School of Music presents its 47th annual Jazz Weekend February 6 & 7 with special guest, Terri Lyne Carrington.  David Nicholas, host of The Beat, spoke with Terri about her career and music.


Fans of early jazz have a concert to plan for and a CD to look forward to as the River Raisin Ragtime Review comes to Central Michigan University.  Their concert will be in the Staples Family Concert Hall on Thursday, September 19 @ 7:30.  The next day, the group will spend the day in the hall recording their next CD.  Bob Lindahl, Professor of Trombone from Central Michigan University’s School of Music and a member of the River Raisin ensemble, joined David Nicholas in studio during Mosaic for a preview.


Science and the Arts are joining forces at CMU in several collaborative projects.  After being published in Teaching Arts Journal, Forbes Magazine brought the work to national attention.  The university colleagues joined Mosaic Host David Nicholas in studio to talk about their creative partnerships.


Dr. Maurtua, Director of Orchestral Studies for the Central Michigan University School of Music, is live with Judy discussing the concert tomorrow evening on the campus of CMU. They'll be joined by students Ben MacDonald and Sepehr Pirasteh.


Dr. Amon Eady, Director of Choral Activities for the Central Michigan University School of Music joins Judy this afternoon to talk about Saturday's performance of "The Music of Duke Ellington" featuring the Festival Chorus and Jazz Lab I.
