Studio 23 The Arts Center

Lives have been disrupted by Covid-19, and the arts are no exception.  How are arts organizations adapting to our reality in these times.  David Nicholas begins a series of interviews with friends in the arts.  He spoke first with Tara Welch, Executive Director of Studio 23-The Arts Center in Bay City.

Midland Center for the Arts

The beloved Rogers & Hammerstein musical, Carousel, is coming to Midland Center for the Arts this weekend.  With performers from Broadway playing the lead roles plus the Midland Center Orchestra and Chorus, this favorite will be staged in concert.  Matt Travis from the Center and Richard Carsey joined David Nicholas during Mosaic for a preview.

CMU School of Music

Central Michigan University’s School of Music is hosting String Day 2020 today welcoming in aspiring string players in the 7th-12th grades.  The special guest is The Elias String Quartet.  They will be holding master classes and performing in concert tonight at 7:30 at Staples Family Concert Hall in the Music Building. Jamie Fiste is professor of cello at CMU. He joined David Nicholas during Mosaic for a preview.

Central Michigan University’s School of Music is preparing to host String Day on Thursday, February 20.  The day-long event, open to aspiring string players, grades 7-12, serves as a recruiting day plus Master Classes and more.  Featured guest artists are the members of the Elias String Quartet.  David Nicholas spoke with cellist Marie Bitlloch about her career with the ensemble.
