Guitarist Sharon Isbin has enjoyed a career filled with tours around the world and multiple Grammy Awards.  Her latest release on Cedille Records is “Souvenirs of Spain & Italy” with Pacifica Quartet.  She spoke recently with Mosaic host David Nicholas about her music and this latest recording.

Pianist Wei Luo has just released her self-titled debut CD on Decca Gold.  On it, she plays Ravel, Haydn, Shostakovich and more.  She spoke with Mosaic host David Nicholas about the CD and her busy schedule balancing concerts and her continuing studies at the Curtis Music Institute in Philadelphia.


The Midland Symphony opens their 2019-2020 subscription season with music by Maurice Ravel and a performance of The Planets by Gustav Holst, complete with NASA footage on screen above the stage. Music Director and Conductor Bohuslav Rattay joined David Nicholas during Mosaic for a preview…


Fans of early jazz have a concert to plan for and a CD to look forward to as the River Raisin Ragtime Review comes to Central Michigan University.  Their concert will be in the Staples Family Concert Hall on Thursday, September 19 @ 7:30.  The next day, the group will spend the day in the hall recording their next CD.  Bob Lindahl, Professor of Trombone from Central Michigan University’s School of Music and a member of the River Raisin ensemble, joined David Nicholas in studio during Mosaic for a preview.


Tuba Bach Festival
