Grand Traverse County is doing better than most on COVID-19 vaccinations.

County health officials say over 60 percent of residents have gotten shots.

But like the rest of the state, clinics are slowing down as some, especially younger adults, aren’t getting vaccinated.

The Biden administration has proposed taking unused doses from Michigan and sending them where demand is higher.

U.S. Senator Gary Peters says Michigan needed help from other states last year when we were short on P.P.E.

“You need to go where the demand is to try to minimize the infection.”

He spoke at a vaccine clinic in Traverse City today (Wednesday).

Over 4 million Michiganders have gotten a COVID vaccine.
