Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she has signed new executive orders that will lift many restrictions on businesses and gatherings.
She says that’s because earlier restrictions appear to be working to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The governor’s new stay-home orders will allow more people to step out.
Auto dealers will be allowed to resume seeing customers, but by appointment only. Doctors, dentists, and veterinarians will be able to see patients for non-essential services. Whitmer says gatherings of 10 or fewer people will be allowed as long as social distancing is practiced.
”Life has changed and it’s important that we change along with it so we can safely get back to some normalcy.”
Bars and restaurants in more densely populated parts of the state still cannot offer sit-down food service, but can offer pick-up and delivery. Whitmer’s new orders will take effect gradually until Friday of next week
