A former Michigan State University Dean had a critical hearing today. The judged decided there is enough evidence for William Strampel to stand trial for a felony and multiple misdemeanor charges.

A doctor who studied in the College of Osteopathic Medicine testified against Strampel at the hearing. The Attorney General’s office asked that her name not be made public.  She says he grabbed her buttocks while they were taking a photograph at a scholarship ceremony.

“It was very well known among the female students that Dean Strampel did these kind of things.”

Prosecutors say Strampel used his position as dean to try and get sexual favors from female students. Prosecutors also say Strampel failed to properly oversee Larry Nassar – the former M-S-U sports doctor who sexually assaulted his patients for years. Strampel was Nassar’s boss.
