Juke Joint: March 8, 2020

This week on "The Juke Joint", Robert Barclay offered a tribute to the guitarist Little Charlie Baty, who was the leader of Little Charlie & the Night Cats, one of the hottest bands working the blues circuit. He also included his work with Mark Hummel's Golden State Lone Star Blues Revue with Anson Funderburgh.  Robert also played new releases by Ivy Ford, Roomful of Blues, Sass Jordan and Rory Block.

Robert Barclay launched "The Juke Joint" broadcast on WCMU in April 1985. It has been a Sunday night fixture from 8:00-11:00 pm ever since. A devoted listener dubbed him the "Duke of Juke." He includes nearly a century's worth of blues history on his program including traditional and contemporary blues along with boogie woogie, soul music, rhythm & blues, zydeco and gospel music.
