Enbridge is putting more steel supports along the controversial Line 5 oil pipelines.
Enbridge has put 147 supports along Line 5 since 2002.
Now, they’re installing over 50 more.
Many have had concerns over the safety and integrity of the 60-year-old pipelines.
The U-S Army Corps of Engineers approved the plan, according to an Enbridge press release.
The energy company says the work will start immediately, and should be finished later this week.
They say they’ll continue to inspect the line to see if additional anchors are needed.
