Education department announces new federal investigation

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos says investigators will look at what she calls "systemic issues" in MSU’s handling of complaints against Larry Nassar.

The department’s Civil Rights team will soon join a Federal Student Aid team already on the campus of MSU.

Earlier this month, Nassar began a sentence at a federal prison in Arizona for child pornography crimes.

Judges in Ingham and Eaton counties sentenced him to decades in prison for sexually assaulting gymnasts.

Attorney General Bill Schuette is also investigating MSU and there are three congressional investigations as well.
