Governor extends expiration date on driver’s licences, state ID’s, and vehicle registrations.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has temporarily extended the expiration dates on Michigan driver’s licenses, state ID’s, and vehicle registrations.

Last Month, the Secretary of State’s Office alerted the Governor that some Michigan residents would see their licenses expire during the stay-at-home order with no way to renew.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said the Governor’s order will give residents until June 30th to have their documents renewed.

“The bottom line is if you have a license or vehicle plate that expired from March 1st to May 1st consider that expiration to now be June 30th.”

Benson said the order also waives any late fees that would have been associated with late registration.
