U.S senator and presidential hopeful Amy Klobuchar visited Michigan today on a two-day campaign swing.

One of Klobuchar's stops was a visit to the UAW picket line outside G-M's Detroit-Hamtramck plant.

“You have right now a situation where workers really took it during the downturn because they wanted these companies to succeed. Now they should share in the prosperity when the times are good, just like they shared in the cuts when the times were bad.”

Klobuchar said it's key that G-M keep negotiating and hopes both sides can come together. She also visited Nicholson Terminal and Dock Company in River Rouge; she said the company has been hurt by escalating trade wars and insufficient infrastructure funding.

Klobuchar spelled out her plans for major infrastructure investment for getting goods to market.
