Former Michigan State Senator Jason Allen was appointed by the Trump administration as the new Director for USDA Rural Development in Michigan.

In a written statement Allen said he is honored to have been selected by the president for the post.

He said he looks forward to working with the Trump administration to increase rural prosperity in Michigan.

He said Rural Development works to create agricultural jobs in the state, maintain good stewardship of natural resources, and further Michigan’s influence on the global economy.
