Ahead of the House of Representatives passing a two trillion dollar Coronavirus Relief Bill, there were some fireworks in the chamber.
Michigan Representative Haley Stevens gave an impassioned speech that went over the allotted minute.
Stevens – whose 11th Congressional district is one of the hardest hit by COVID-19 in the country…would not back down…
“…to our doctors and our nurses I wear these latex gloves…(everyone shouting over each other…ends with gavel)”
The Democrat was gaveled down by fellow Dem…Anthony Brown of Maryland who was presiding over the chamber. Stevens flipped the district that covers parts of Wayne and Oakland Counties to blue in 2018… after years of G-O-P control.
