Michigan State University trustees are defending their actions amid misconduct allegations. As Michelle Jokisch Polo reports the board met for the first time since the ethics investigation was announced.

MSU Trustee Brianna Scott has accused board Chair Rema Vassar of bullying and of making unilateral decisions.

She says the board’s conduct has prevented MSU from holding itself accountable.

“People can't talk because they're afraid. And we say we want transparency.”

Vassar is defending herself. She says the accusations are a part of a coordinated campaign against her.

“This idea that I'm not transparent is a problem,” said Vassar.

Vassar has also been accused of thwarting a probe into leaks related to the Mel Tucker sexual harassment investigation. She refutes those claims.
