Slotkin to rally with Rep. Liz Cheney in final election push

Representative Cheney endorsed congresswoman Elissa Slotkin's (D-8th District) bid for re-election last week, calling her “a good and honorable public servant.” The two are rallying together this evening at the East Lansing High School.

They hope to reinforce Slotkin’s pitch as a bipartisan voice in Congress who would put country over party in office.

Cheney is the former chair of the House Republican Conference and the vice chair of the committee investigating the January 6th insurrection. She and Slotkin both have experience in national security. They serve together on the Armed Services Committee in the US. House of Representatives.

Slotkin’s opponent, Michigan State Senator Tom Barrett, also hosted a press conference Tuesday to counter Cheney’s endorsement. He spoke alongside former national security officials to highlight his experience as an Army veteran.

The general election is one week away.
