Governor Whitmer announced Wednesday in a press release that the U.S. Small Business Administration is providing its disaster assistance loan program to Otsego County.

The program will make low interest loans available to residents, businesses and nonprofits affected by the tornado earlier this summer.

“Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets,” said SBA’s Michigan District Director Laketa Henderson in a press release.

Other nearby counties are included in the program like:

  • Antrim County
  • Charlevoix County
  • Cheboygan County
  • Crawford County
  • Kalkaska County
  • Montmorency County
  • Oscoda County
