Michigan has hit a new record for COVID-19 hospitalizations, even as the state's daily confirmed COVID-19 case rate dropped slightly over the weekend.
State Health department data shows Michigan averaged nearly 15 thousand confirmed cases during the three days Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That’s down from 20 thousand cases a day at the end of last week.
Michigan has been seeing rising COVID case rates since the end of last year as the Omicron variant spread in the state.
Meanwhile, the new data shows a record of more than 45-hundred patients hospitalized in Michigan with COVID.
