The long-serving sheriff of an Upper Peninsula county has died from injuries sustained in an accident at his home.
Houghton County Sheriff Brian McLean suffered serious injuries in an accident Saturday night.
Details on the nature of the accident have not been released, but his neighbors had to perform lifesaving measures before medical personnel got to the scene.
McLean was airlifted to a hospital in Marquette where he was put on life support.
He died Monday night.
McLean was with the Sheriff’s Office for 34 years and recently held the title of longest-serving sheriff in the State of Michigan.
