First Lady Jill Biden visits a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Grand Rapids this Thursday.
It’s part of the Biden Administrations efforts to convince more Americans to take the vaccine.
Federal health officials say the nation is on track to reach President Biden’s goal of having 70 percent of eligible adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4th.
But the rate of inoculations per day is dropping, and the White House is promoting on-site vaccination clinics at some of the nation’s largest community colleges.
In Michigan, First Lady Jill Biden will welcome those receiving their first vaccine shot at Grand Rapids Community College.
More than half of residents in Michigan over age 16 have had one or more doses of COVID vaccine, but only about a third of those living in the state’s largest city, Detroit.
