The FBI says pro-Trump Republicans are planning armed rallies in the coming days at state houses across the country, including the Capitol in Lansing. The planned demonstration has many on edge following last week’s attack on the US Capitol.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer says there has not been a direct threat of violence.
“There is a lot of chatter that is being monitored both by our federal partners and by our state resources and as for specific threat, there's not any to my knowledge,” said Whitmer.
Whitmer says the Michigan State Police are coordinating their response with the National Guard and local police departments.
