At least 25 polling locations in Detroit were changed in the weeks and days leading up to yesterday's (Tue) primary election.
The City of Detroit says it notified voters of location changes by mailing postcards and an election newsletter but not everyone got the message in time.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says that's something her office is working to improve.
“You know that’s another thing we want to course correct in November and make sure if there are any changes around the state that we have clear guidelines at the state level in how voters must be notified of those changes," said Benson. "And also that we’re notified as well at the state level so that we can be a partner in preparing and communicating that out.”
Benson appeared on WDET's Detroit Today. She says she’s also working with Detroit’s City Clerk to add more absentee drop-boxes. There were only two drop-boxes in the city for the primary election.
