Travelers planning on taking the train this holiday should check schedules and route information due to restrictions.Currently, Amtrak has only one round trip train from the Detroit Metro area to Chicago every day until the week of July 19th.
Marc Magliari is the Public Relations Manager for Amtrak. He says face coverings are still required on board.
“All of us in mass transportation are still under a mask mandate. So if you're in one of our stations, or riding one of our trains, wearing a mask is required, unless you're actively eating or drinking.”
Magilari says there will be no “change fee” for people who decide the train may be too full.
