Millionaire businessman Sandy Pensler has joined the group of Republicans who want to be the nominee to run against incumbent Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Pensler says he is a trained economist and an entrepreneur who understands how to drive job creation. He also says he’s a big fan of President Trump’s efforts to reduce regulations on businesses.

“President Trump has been trying to roll it back. I think they’ve done a good job with that, and I want to support that and a lot of the other policies that he has provided.”

Years ago, Pensler ran for Congress as a Republican who favors abortion rights. He says that’s no longer his position on the issue.

“My views on abortion have evolved as I’ve had my own family and children. I consider myself ‘pro-life’ now.”

Pensler says he’s a big supporter of President Trump.

“I’ve been, really, unexpectedly pleased with his policies. I thought I would be pleased with some of what he did, and not others. I think he’s been terrific on the policy front almost across the board.”

Pensler says he particularly likes Trump’s approach to rolling back regulations on business. He also supports tighter controls on immigration.

Pensler once ran for Congress as a Republican who favors abortion rights. He says his position has evolved over the years, and he now opposes abortion.
