With November elections coming up fast, there’s a lot on voters’ minds. An event is scheduled in Petoskey to discuss some of the issues on this years ballot.

Officials with the Petoskey Chamber said the event will be non-partisan and non-confrontational. It’s simply meant to give attendees a better understanding of the issues and candidates they’re voting on.

Carlin Smith is president of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re looking forward to just a good conversation in advance of the November 6th election and just kind of get the pulse of what’s going on; what are the trends saying, what are the polls saying, what can we maybe expect from this election or not expect and what surprises might be coming down the pike.”

Smith said a legislative director from Lansing will attend as a guest speaker to help guide the discussion after information is presented.

The event is scheduled for Friday, October 5 at the Odawa Hotel in Petoskey. Doors open at 11:45am and the program is scheduled to run from 12:15pm to 1pm. There is a 20 dollar fee to get in and that fee includes lunch. Preregistration is required and can be done by calling 231-347-4150 or by visiting the Petoskey Chamber website.
