Meterologists predict good Thanksgiving travel weather, until Saturday

If your Thanksgiving plans include travel - the weather should cooperate, at least until Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Gaylord predicts cooler weather throughout the region on Thanksgiving.

But no storms or precipitation until after Thanksgiving.

Andy Sullivan is with the Gaylord service.

“We have another system coming in later Friday, Friday night and that would probably be in the form of rain, it'll be milder on Friday. So rain moving in in the evening, it could change to snow early Saturday, with lake effect following, so could end up being some slick travel here especially late Friday night into Saturday during the day.”

Sullivan said temperatures the rest of November will be up and down. He says mid-December it should feel like winter.

“La Nina’s in effect. It hasn't truly set up as far as the pattern goes, but we're expecting a La Nina winter and that means normal to above normal temperature and heavier precipitation so we’ll see how that turns out.”
