Flint mayor asks EPA to intervene over Flint Crisis

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver is asking the EPA to intervene in the city’s latest dispute with the state concerning Flint’s water crisis.

“The Snyder administration canceled a meeting of a committee that oversees the government’s response to Flint’s water crisis.”

And Mayor Weaver is not happy about it.

The governor’s office cancelled the meeting after city leaders threatened legal action over the state’s decision to end a two-year old bottled water distribution program.

State officials maintain tests show Flint’s tap water is now within federal and state quality standards.   Though it is still distributing water filters to Flint residents.

City officials and residents want the free water distribution to continue…at least until a program replacing aging lead pipes is finished.
