Destination Out: June 18, 2017

Following along with the Juke Joint's music of 1967 theme. Destination Out featured landmark Jazz and World Music recordings that were also made in 1967. Featured artists on the program included Charles Lloyd who played at the first Montreux Jazz festival that year. John Coltrane form "Expressions" one of his last albums before he passed away later that year. Miles Davis was in transition into his new fusion music phase in '67 and Ravi Shankar closed the Monterey Pop Festival with one of the most stellar performances of his long career. We also heard music from Charles Tyler, Roscoe Mitchell, Bill Dixon Andrew Hill and several other artists.
