The Board of Trustees names an interim president today at  Central Michigan University. Tuesday is the last day for current president George Ross.

CMU’s interim president will be current Provost Michael Gealt.

William Weideman is chair of the CMU Board of Trustees. He said the interim president will hold their title until a permanent president is selected.

“And the role of the interim during that time frame will not be to introduce any major new initiatives or make any significant changes, it will be primarily to continue to run the day to day operations during that time.”

Weideman said there are four remaining candidates for CMU’s 15th president. He said a final decision is expected to be made in August.
